Responsibilities
- Understand complete map of Ooma services and products, and used technologies.
- Communicate with product team and engineering management. Understand and fine-tune the requirements.
- Plan and design the structure of a solution, considering exiting services and technologies. Evaluate and select appropriate software and suggest integration methods.
- Work on design proposals and HLDs.
- Implement proof of concept and fundament for new services.
- Communicate and explain the requirements to development team.
- Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.
- Work with operations and QA. Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Review technical debt and existing issues. Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions.
- Collaborate with other engineers in Sunnyvale and at Ooma’s offshore locations.
- Attend daily stand-ups.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of Architect role.
- Experience with cloud technologies i.e. AWS, Serverless, Event Driven Architecture, SOC, MicroServices, Microfrontend, CI/CD, Infrastructure as code, and other modern technologies.
- MVC architecture.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Node.JS, and Web architecture design.
- Experience with one of the backend languages Java, Python, PHP.
